Elements of Desire

Elements of Desire (Hijinks Harem Book 3) by [Stunich, C.M., James, Tate]The final book in the Hijinks Harem series is here.

Idonea & Amanda:  Finally! We get to know who the fuck Gemma is.

Elements of Desire by Tate James and C.M. Stunich is back for one more book full of sexy plumbers, lots of sex and the plumber jokes.
I: Really love the plumber jokes!

Arizona Smoke was having a great wedding until the end when a random woman shows up claiming that her new husbands are in fact supposed to be her husbands. Gemma, a women that five of the guys use to know shows up after having disappeared 10 years before.
It seems that the horrid mother in law invited her, and Gemma wants to end Ari’s relationship with her six guys though they want nothing to do with Gemma. The group goes to visit Ari’s mom in Down Under during their honeymoon and what a shock cunt MIL get on the plane along with the homewrecker Gemma Darling.
It isn’t a coincidence that Gemma is there, and she thinks the guys will want to be with her just because they have a past. Much to her chagrin the guys can’t stand her and only have love for Ari, even Dustin and his assy ways. The seven of them seem to be getting stalked by Joan and Gemma Darling, and Joan goes out of her way to treat Ari bad, like always. The guys promise Ari that they truly love her and could never love Gemma even with their past. Gemma plans something evil and hurts the link between Ari and her elementals. On top of all that, Ari learns more about her past and about the plans of the bio parents for her and her husbands.
I: And don’t forget the wine, something happens to the wine. Keep your priorities straight.

This was a great ending to the series. We both wanted to tit punch Gemma, (I: not only tit punch, know so many places that would hurt). Luckily Ari got her chance and did it for us in the book.
We both hate Gemma, don’t ask us why, because you will get a really long list. She was totally unlikeable throughout the whole thing, so good job writers!

This book is written from Ari’s point of view and her soul takes a beating in this book. But her guys love her completely and never waver from loving her even after all of the shit that happens to them.

Me, books and this blog

Hi there,

We decided that were going to write a post about the books we read, where we found them and what our favorite was. The other website name is books, life, reading. And we want to give you something more personal then only the reviews.

I’m going to talk a little about the 24 post I placed from the moment we started. This are a lot of books, to be honest I almost like all the books I read. I never start reading books I don’t like. To choose between these books is hard and I don’t really know which one is my favorite.

So I’m first going to tell you something about me and my favorite genre.
I think you guessed it already, I really love fantasy. And then the magic, fae, witches, dragons kind.
I read other books to, I have, I think, read two thrillers and that was it, still other books….
Reading these kind of books are an escape for me, getting away from my life and getting some peace in my head. I can’t read any other genre because I just can’t.

InstinctualInstinctual, Rise of the Iliri book two by Auryn Hadley.

This is the second time I’ve read these books, and I still love them, fell right into the story again. It felt like reading for the first time. So good job Auryn.

Sal earned her place in the Black Blades, no surprise with being full Iliri. She now needs to find it in herself to become the Kaisae that is not the only thing the CFC knows what they are.
Now she needs to find her place in her family, how to make it work with two lovers and one being her superior, show the CFC how good they are without being hanged. And the humans aren’t happy about it. They get kicked in the back many times and they only want to protect what is theirs. And keep Terric from their doorsteps.

There is a bunch of steel heading to Angalia and they are the best to stop the load. Only the parliament thinks they can use this mission to let them fail, to show how bad the Iliri are and that humans are better. Not knowing that by doing so, they only strengthen the group of Iliri, making their bond stronger and their family more. They get the order to find two more Black Blades and finding them can be hard when everyone is working against you.

Then there is the part of her sleeping with Bleac and Jase and parliament is planning on meddling in her love life, because she has ears on her head and proves over and over that she is better than the humans. They keep throwing shit their way, keep trying to pull them down by not giving them more information over missions they need to do. Not only the bad intel makes it harder to work, they soldiers they have to work with, who hate them keep putting up road blocks, keep trying to get them in bad light keep trying to get them killed.

How are they keeping Terric from their doorstep, how are they fighting for their survival and those of all the other Iliri and crossbreds around, how are they going to fight against their own and make sure they all, human and Iliri survive.

Then there is her new mission, secure an alliance with Angelina, and this one is without her family. Only Jase to support her and no Blaec to fall back on. How is she going to do that?
They keep saying to Sal, trust you instinct, and listen to your instinct. We do what is natural.

A Bond of Blood and Fire

a bond of blood and fireThis review contains spoilers read first the first book. Thank you.

A Bond of Blood and Fire, the Goddess and the Guardians, book two by Karen Tomlinson.

I read this right after the first book. And got hooked in seconds. The writer has grown so much between the first book and this one.

The story continues with Diamond in training to become the weapon that the Queen wants her to be. Only one thing that makes it a lot more difficult, is Hugo. He is now nothing more than her enemy, feeling betrayed by him. Not knowing if she ever will trust him again, she starts her training. Hugo trains her hard and with some help of the goddess she becomes stronger, better and faster.

Diamond trains and trains. Her relationship with Hugo keeps changing, from great to terrible. Hugo knows that they are Nexus that they meant to be with each other. And he tries to win Diamond back, to make her trust him again. Something that isn’t that simple.
Her training goes well, and her relationship with Hugo gets better making her happy. Finding new friends and finding out that she can do more.

Then the Queen finds out that her commander and Diamond are growing towards each other again. And she gives Diamond the test, a horrible test. After she passes the test she is send to the Wall to fight Giants, dragons and the army of the Wraith lord.
Here she needs to train her magic to become even stronger and save everyone in Valentia.
It gives also her and Hugo the freedom to find out what is between them. Read More »

A Bond of Venom and Magic

a bond of venom and magicA Bond of Venom and Magic, the Goddess and the Guardians. Book one by Karen Tomlinson.

I found this book by accident. And first when I started to read it, I thought oke not my kind of book. It took me two chapters to find the rhythm and to start enjoying the book. And then I couldn’t put it away.

It tells the story of Diamond a half-blood fae and Hugo a fae. To be honest I don’t like the name Diamond, still after reading both book don’t like the name. Luckily for me, I can get over that fact.
Diamond lives with her father in a small town in the woods. One day her father finds out that they are under attack by the creatures of the Wraith Lord, an immortal who sucks souls to gain strength and to conquer the world. He races towards his house to find that his daughter Diamond isn’t there and goes looking for her. She gets surrounded by creatures and her father first saves her with a family friend of theirs. Then when everything seems lost a group of fae warriors rescue her.
To keep her safe, she and a friend are taken away. And then everything starts.
There are only a few problems. The commander who saved her, Hugo, is in service of the queen and that means that when he finds out that Diamond has magic, he needs to bring her to the Queen. And she is an evil bitch, she sucks all the magic out of fae or half-bloods with magic. Only the ones with gold wings can stay alive, they become her personal guard. The others with colours like green, red, white are all killed.
Hugo is sworn to the Queen to do everything she wants, and that is problem number one. Read More »
