Charmed by Them the first in the Quitessence Series by Serena Akeroyd. Sascha has been living in London for six years now. She use to be the housekeeper for a diplomat and then an older socialite, but when her agency sends her to a house in London looking for someone to run the household, Sascha is in for more than she originally thought. Sascha is into vintage, whether it is from her Caddy she brought across the pond or her wardrobe of 50’s area clothes.
Sascha comes into her interview her normal friendly self. She doesn’t believe in not
being who she is.
Her interview is conducted by Sean a famous criminologist that helps Scotland Yard trac
k killers. But as she starts talking to Sean, she learns something that was left out of the add. Not only would she be taking care of the house but that there are actually 5 guys that live there not just Sean. Each of the guys more brilliant than the last.
The guys have been close since college and prefer to stay together. One thing that Sascha learns after signing her NDA (non disclosure agreement) is that the guys don’t really date as they individually don’t have time for one on one relationships, but that they prefer to all be with the same woman. And they hope that it can be Sascha.
I love books with brainy guys and smart women (but I think that we expect that these days from books geared to women). The guys are all essentially geniuses and it reads really well. While the five guys are all so different with different backgrounds to a point (two of them are mathematicians) but they see the potential in each other and it adds to the story. I liked that Sascha wasn’t this perfect petite girl, that she was curvy (even though she tried to hide it with spanx’s) and that she is so outgoing and opinionated when it comes to what she wants out of life. The writing is really good and the flow in the story is great. Check back for the reviews for the rest of the books in this series in the next coming weeks.
