Looking for a flip on a story you already know so well? Willing to fall down the rabbit hole? Then try out C.M. Stunich’s newest book Allison’s Adventures in Underland. This is a reverse harem, but has more of a slow burn with how Allison knows which of the guys are hers. This is a turn on your head story about Allison an 18 year old senior that, after agreeing to her sister’s demands goes to a high school party. Her reasoning, the guy she has a crush, Brandon, who will be there and she wants to not be alone the rest of her senior year. While at this party let down by the object of her desire, Allison wanders off to read by herself. As her crush walks towards her a guy with white rabbit ears meets at where Allison is sitting and shoots Brandon in the head, splattering her in blood.
Allison takes off after the white rabbit and ends up falling down a hole in the ground. As she falls, Allison reaches out and grabs a flintlock gun. She ends up in the white rabbits arms and is left in the hole as he leaves her behind. As she searches for an exit, she begins to piece together what is happening to her. So she starts her search for the doorway, just like Alice. But her Eat Me and Drink Me are a tad different. Instead of cakes or a vial there are two sexy and handsome naked men each with a sign around their necks. With only one way to enter through the small doorway, Allison decides to take the long way around. And this is where the adventures really begin.
This book is such a fun spin on the Alice adventure. The lore rewritten is such a treat for any Alice fan. As always C.M. writes a fun and unique story that makes you wish that there wasn’t a to be continued at the end. Allison has limits and isn’t above voicing them throughout the book. She is a great lead that is willing to put up with a lot of shit just to try to get home again. The twin Dee and Tee are awesome and have such a great backstory. I love the different levels depth in each character and how each turn in Wonderland builds to the next. Let me know what you think in the comments?
